Guest guest Posted November 30, 1999 Report Posted November 30, 1999 Hello everyone. I came back into town over the weekend. Hope all is well with everyone. Caught up on all the messages and what everyone is saying on the list. I thank the brilliant and wise moderators for their contributions (sorry to hear about the car accident Janpa). I have been on the internet for two years now and have gradually gotten better organized. Now all the messages from the list go into a special folder which I can access at my leisure. While I read all the messages on a (not always on the other lists), I cannot always respond due to time constraints. I have to often console myself admiring your brilliance and insight in silence. Recently some people have been mentioning to me the possibility of their addiction to the internet. I have reflected on the amount of time spent here. Although it is of some concern, it is also true that the last two years have been a great boon for me. I could not have hoped to have met people of such intelligence and wisdom, warmth, maturity and insight into the spiritual life as I have met here. That is the truth. I just don't run into wonderful people who are more or less (given the debate on diet) on the same wave length. So I think there are pluses and minuses with this technology and all of us have to learn to budget our time and take long or short breaks as needed. Another benefit I have gotten over the last two years is that my social skills have improved considerably. I am much more of a smooth talker now and do fewer wise cracks than before. So I consider all this part of my SIP (Self Improvement Program). Thanks and Love to all Harsha Quote
