What do you do when someone die? i mean in detail, the words to use in pray or may be you have a mantra to help them move on? Thanks for sharing this.< Tony's answer: It depends on your cultural and religious background, the contents of your sub-conscious mind. I have read the Tibetan Book of the dead and various Bardo literature and not much applied to the experiences I am talking about, for non Tibetans. Most knew about their own funerals, families etc, others didn't want to bother with anything at all to do with this plane. Which surprised me with some. Others mentioned that prayer, any prayer had helped them move on. Others were aided by spirits, Devas/Angels if they wished. These can be invoked also. Again it was all pretty subjective stuff. The feeling in the Heart and the connection is more important than a particular mantra I think. For it is the sub-conscious that is the mind there really, initially anyway! So use any prayer/mantra that is comfortable to you and even better if it is something they are familiar with. I suppose I am talking about 'Love'. After the 'second death', they end up where they are supposed to be, in most cases. Although again Devas, God-Forms, can help with respect to this as well. Some will be on the 'form'planes or heavens others will be on 'light'planes it all depends on their level of awareness at death. It is all in the universal mind. It seemed to me that prayer was effective and necessary at the initial Bardo level before dropping the vital double body. It takes some time to become accustomed to their new situation and get over any confusion, but if they have been taught some religion or spirituality, they know they have to move on. Others whose mind doesn't contain these images can be unconscious, confused, or even not know they are dead, it all to do with awareness and attachment. Thanks for sharing this.> Several weeks before my mom died, my grandmother (dead many years) came to me and said you've got to warn your mother because she has no spiritual beliefs about any kind of afterlife and when she gets here it's going to freak the --- out of her! I was in a pickle about this for awhile because I didn't want to force my own beliefs on my mother -- who had always respected mine. But finally I told her what had happened and she was grateful, if not entirely believing. The morning of her death it somehow felt right to read poetry to her, and as she actually died I just held her and told her we loved her and that she could let go and go to Love. Her death was profoundly peaceful and the room was filled with GodPresence. Some time later I had 3 messages from her confirming that she had found radiance and that she'd been aware of my words at her death. I think Tony is right, it is the heart that matters more than the particular spiritual practice. Holly
