Dan: Yes, thank you. These words echo the teachings of Jesus and the Buddha. Minimimizing compassion when interacting is minimizing Truth. Am I interested in testifying to Truth or in putting someone down? I can tell by looking at my choice of words and the tone of my speech. If my speech is presenting my opinion as Truth, it glorifies the "me" that is speaking, not the Truth. I am letting myself be caught in the dualistic game of "my mind" against "your mind, may the best mind win this war of words". Truth is not a personal possession, nor is it an opinion about something, nor is it the outcome of a war of words, nor does It exist in a field of embattled "minds". Truth is always only its own subject and object - how could It ever stoop to trying to make "another" feel foolish, or to presenting an opinion as ultimate reality? I am of Truth only when I see no "other" besides Truth. "Thou shall have no other gods before Me". One of these "other gods" is "my own opinion as Truth". -- Shalom --

And did not Jesus extend compassion to the hookers, 'sinners', and unsavory? Not sure where omnivores fit into all this, but I suspect there's a place for them as well. "Let the might of your compassion arise to bring a quick end to the flowing stream of the blood and tears" - quote from Steve Vai's latest CD. Thanks for the good sense and even better guidelines of good "idea sharing." Blessings Love, Zenbob
