Not to be the bahhumbug or broken record, but to best practise this sort of

sadhana, one needs the expert advice of a teacher or guru.

 

Basing this on partly on the teachings i've had, and on things i have read

such as Patrul Rinpoche's "words of my perfect teacher".

 

Some things wont hurt you if you dont have a teacher, but some things can,

and done incorrectly could lead one further into samsara instead of out of

it.
