Guest guest
Morning, Had a long conversation by phone with one of our list members yesterday on all sorts of topics, but one of the most interesting conversations we had in our hours on the phone was on gurus. What i find most useful about Teachers and gurus is a sense of humility and a sense of "where am i?" When i was very small, I told my great-uncle, James, who was working for the Pope, that I was seeing energy fields around people, actually i termed it "colors," and why was i the only one seeing them? He said, "well, that's okay just be honest, but perhaps better just to talk to me about it, other people might think you're a little off your dollies, poppetjes," actually is what he said. Later, I told said same uncle I was having ESP, i was i think 14, he looked at me with those piercing brilliant blue eyes and said, "that's okay just be honest, no big deal." Great for my humility. Later, I had a teacher and had a mystical blowout and she said, "oh, okay, finally you've begun." Still later, I had three months of complete kundalini crown fire blow-out and had then two different teachers, one male and one female say, "oh, okay, so finally you've gotten the link up and now you can begin some real work." The point being that there is a great humility in having someone keep my ego down and keep my nose to the grindstone and continue to work, refine, redefine, rethink, meditate and work, work, work. The other conversation we had which I find useful to remember is that all great Avatars, Buddha, Christ, etc., all had disciples, there is no one going it alone, part of our work is like Ramakrishna said while awaiting his disciples, is not going it alone, it's really a part of the journey, like the Indians who meditate in the woods alone, that's a lifetime, one part, but not a whole part. Again, I think the question is not "who are we?" But, "where are we?" A speck on the planet Shekinah-Tiamat, ~ bo ~
