Blood Moon

The Full Moon eclipse tonight (Jan. 21, 4:41am GMT) is unusual in that, due

to the refraction of the sun's rays onto the moon, we are seeing a red

moon. When I heard about this earlier on TV, the words "blood moon" came

into my mind. All I can find on this on the net is an indication that it

relates to death or to those who have died, and a reference to a belief

that a blood moon requires a sacrifice, which may be seen in the form of a

disaster that claims a number of lives.

 

The Full Moon is the opposition of Sun and Moon, and it is the most

powerful time of the month for meditation... the time when energies are

strongest. This may be a particularly strong time.

 

This Full Moon eclipse takes place with the Moon at 0 degrees Leo and the

Sun at 0 degrees Aquarius. The Sabian symbol for the first degree of Leo

is:

>UNDER EMOTIONAL STRESS BLOOD RUSHES TO A MAN'S HEAD.

 

Marc Edmund Jones says: "...forceful, dangerous entrance into the Soul

realm. Irresistible outpouring of self. Activity per se." Rudhyar

suggests that the symbol certainly looks like a man having an attack of

apoplexy, a stroke. And he says certainly this is a powerful influx of

energy.

 

The symbol for the first degree of Aquarius is:

>AN OLD ADOBE MISSION IN CALIFORNIA.

 

Jones says: "Mastery of man over environment while becoming an integral

part of it." And Rudhyar speaks of "the concretization of an ideal" and

"the 'immortalization' of an individual within a great collective and

cultural enterprise."

 

At this Full Moon, the Moon is very close to its North Node at 3 degrees

Leo, and the Sun is conjunct Neptune and the South Node at 3 degrees

Aquarius and Mercury at 4 Aquarius.

 

Mercury is the intellect and communication, and Neptune is the planet of

the subconscious, of mysticism, of dreams, illusion, and delusion.

 

This could be a wonderful, powerful time for meditation. But it may be

more energy than some people are ready to handle. Watch out for extreme

emotional stuff, possibly triggered by old, subconscious material, old

"habit patterns." Be wary of delusion and deception. A poor time for

drug/alcohol use (Mercury/Neptune); the results could be more than you want.

 

The energy will be high for a day or two, and the Full Moon pattern will be

triggered during the next month at any time a planet aspects an important

Full Moon position.
