Robert you have used insight to look at the roots of surrender as it so far has meaning applied to you .. Therefore, having redefined the keyword, for your self it can be used with impunity without drawing to it the past consciousness of the box labelled surrender Christopher Wynter

Do you mean I have somehow disengaged it from my old connotations of its meaning? If so, true up to a point. Though the nature of the experience was also different to past connotations of my understanding of "surrender". So now it has grown to encompass the new experience. I've been unsatisfied with the word "surrender", though I may be acting from ignorance about its "essential" meaning, whatever that may be. I think the word doesn't do justice to the act in the context we were discussing. In fact "surrender" has been hijacked somewhat by the territorial history of the human race, making it imo too dualistic for use as a word for merging with the All. No flags flying, no tickertape parade, no war reparations, just open acceptance. Actually, I don't recognise myself writing this, but something has happened lately, changing me (again). "Surrender" naturally has the meaning I gave it insofar as it applies to me. I'm not setting up rules for everyone, I don't have the breeding. I don't recognise any "punity" in using the word, Christopher, that's not where I'm at. "Appropriateness" is closer to home for me. Thanks for helping me clarify my thinking.
