Guest guest
Chuck Hillig, whose first book is reviewed on the NDS webpage by Jerry, will have a new book out soon, and an excerpt from it is on the realization webpage at: <http://www.realization.org> Twenty Questions About "It" >From a new book by the author of Enlightenment For Beginners By CHUCK HILLIG In this excerpt from Chuck's new book, The Way "It" Is, he answers questions about Consciousness from some of his clients. The book is scheduled for publication in 2000. Copyright 2000 by Chuck Hillig. Point of Departure: When Consciousness pretends that there's a separation between what It says It is…(the "I")… and what It says It isn't …(the "not-I"), then the world mysteriously (re)appears. In truth, though, the so-called "story of your life" is only the cosmic song-of-Consciousness being gloriously played out through the instrument of your own body. The purpose of any song, though, is not to arrive at the final note. The purpose of a song can only be found in the joyous playing of it. And so it is with Consciousness. In short, Its purpose is to play out an entrancing story with Itself by using an illusory "you" as the so-called "Star" of this Cosmic drama. Guest guest
Love this answer from Hillig at the end of the page you refered to Gloria: "The answer to life's problems is to first see who has them!" Wich brings this old saying to my mind: "May the one who has no sins trow the first rock." And in some way, it answers one of my question to why I still listen to gossip in love and humour. Thank you, Antoine
Guest guest
Hi Antoine, >Wich brings this old saying to my mind: > >"May the one who has no sins trow the first rock." That's not an old saying, my friend. It's a quote from Jesus of Nazareth in a very specific situation. Some people were trying to trip him up and discredit him publicly. According to one account, he was talking to a crowd at the temple in Jerusalem when these men came through the crowd, dragging a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery - there was no doubt that she was guilty. And the legal punishment was death by stoning, which meant that a crowd would throw stones at her until she was dead. So these men called on Jesus as a rabbi to pass judgment on her. They thought they had him. There was no right answer. If he told them to go ahead and kill her, it would be a big switch from the things he'd been teaching... he would surely be discredited in the eyes of all the people there. But if he set aside the legal punishment and let her go free, they would have grounds to bring charges against him. His judgment was : "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." The oldest man turned and walked away... and slowly, one by one, the rest of the crowd just left. Finally, only two people were still there... Jesus and the woman. "Woman, where are they?" he asked. "Has no one condemned you?" "No one, Lord," she answered. And he said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go... and don't sin again."
Guest guest
Hello dharma, Are quotes from the bible not old saying, also? Teasing you... In this wonderful story that you bring out, the woman could be the conscience of the patient and the therapist being Jesus. And the people wanting to throw rocks at her all the gossip going around. Dharma wrote: « His judgement was : "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." The oldest man turned and walked away... and slowly, one by one, the rest of the crowd just left. Finally, only two people were still there... Jesus and the woman. "Woman, where are they?" he asked. "Has no one condemned you?" "No one, Lord," she answered. And he said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go... and don't sin again." It could be the other way around, also, the woman being the therapist and giving a chance to her patient to shine. Who knows really?
