I hear a lot of people talking

About things that come to their minds,

And I wonder. . .

They say they have read a book

And have studied the ancient texts.

They say they have looked at things

And determined their nature,

All this, because they read a book.

And because of this they are instant experts,

Authorities over things read from a book!

But have they truly experienced any of those things

Which they have read about in their precious textbook?

Is their expertise based upon what someone,

In their learnéd oppinion, has told them?

One can be an expert over nothing in truth

Until he has experienced it himself!

How can we know God if we just read

Of all the things He did in the days of the Bible?

How can we understand a rock by the way

If we do not pick it up and handle it?

To do otherwise is not true Science;

To do otherwise is not true Religion.

How oft do we speak of the Beloved and hold Him

At arms length as if we were beholding an apple

Looking for something wrong with it?

We say He is beautiful, like the apple.

What good is the apple to us

If we don’t eat it and allow it to nourish us?

And so. . .how may we experience God

If we do not embrace Him and allow

The Beloved to become our Beloved?

We must answer the invitation, “Come and dine.”

Namaste,

~ Charles

Dear Harsha,

I would agree with you that if one does not know about God, it is needful

to either be told about Him or to read something about Him. Paul put it

like this, and I paraphrase, "How will one know about the Gospel if God

does not send a Messenger?" In the early days of the Christ Path we had

Jesus, but even He referred people to the older Hebrew Scriptures and to

the true teachers of the Way. So I cannot deny the need in my own life

for the Bible, nor for those teachers who encouraged me to come to the

place where I am now.

There comes a time in our lives, it seems, that we get so caught up in

the Message we presently carry, that we forget how we got there. We

forget the aids we used to need to help us along the Way, and sometimes

we even take them for granted. This happens to me upon occasion, and God

is good enough to send me loving reminders that I am not so high and

mighty as I seem to think I am.

The only remedy for this, it seems to me, is to adjust my thinking, even

as a pilot must upon occasion adjust his flight path, or as a musician

must tune his instrument. That is why we need one another. . .so that we

can keep ourselves on the true and living Middle Path of Balance and Rest

in Him.

I remember one of my teachers telling me once, "Don't get lost in the

sauce." Its easier to do than people think, especially if they have had

to pursue Truth with very little help. Most of my teachers, while being

good and upright Christians, have not understood the way I am given to

walk, and rather that fuss with them, I had to go on my way. But in this

I have found that other people are sometimes good sounding boards for

what we are feeling, and this helps us stay in touch with Divine Reality

as well as physical reality.

So now, I am thankful that you have reminded me of this in such a

beautiful way.

Namaste,

I submit to the Will of my Beloved in all things,

For this is what I truly will!

Dear Harsha,

The God of my heart is the Divine Part that is within me, about which I

was formed. I used to see God as being something seperate from my own

being, a Supreme Being, as it were. But then it dawned upon me that I was

unable to find anywhere in the Bible where God was described as a Being

at all. It, in fact, describes God as anything but a being. God is Love;

God is a consumming Fire; God is a Spirit; Spirit is Truth, etc., lead me

to conclude that God was the pure essence of Life that indwells all

beings and, in fact, all Creation. I do not deny that God can manifest as

a Supreme Being, but I have come to understand that He is greater than

any being could be, and that even the term "God" seemed a limitation. And

Power that indwells all Creation has got to be unspeakably awesome, yet

because He is so interconnected with all things, He is within us. To me,

the most powerful part of being human is the Divine Part, the God part,

Christ, My Beloved.

Namaste,

Dear Charles,

The points you make are well taken. I for one have already agreed with you

on many of the things you have alerted us about in some of my recent

postings.

You mention the following:

And so. . .how may we experience God

If we do not embrace Him and allow

The Beloved to become our Beloved?

~ In view of your own statements about the futility and emptiness of

mistaking reading as a source of true understanding, have you not read ABOUT

the God you use as the point of departure in your own spiritual journey in a

BOOK called the Bible?

Had you never read this book, would you have been able to make the above

statement about knowing and embracing God? What is the nature of this

character god in the play you have written for yourself?

Love ,

Moller

well put Charles

i couldnt agree with you more

at present im trying to crash thru barrier of seperateness with creator

during meditation. It doesnt make any sense that something (creation &

soul) created by god out of spirit can be of any other composition exept

God. Its still challenging to intuitively KNOW that instead of just saying

i know it. good luck

peace from zero
