Guest guest
================================================= 8. Dancer ================================================= If one wishes to be a notable dancer He must be willing to learn how to dance. If he wishes to learn how to dance He must be open enough to understand the music. To be a good dancer, he must be one with his feet. To be one with his feet is to be an unified being. Then he may expand until he becomes one also With the Rhythm of the Music he dances to. The dancer, the feet, the Rhythm of the Music, All join together to form a singular Entity; Until one cannot be disassociated from the other. It becomes a manifestation of One Thing alone. The Union cannot be accomplished without discipline And Discipline cannot be activated but by Submission to co-ordination, movement and concentration, And the patient guidance of an experienced teacher. One does not learn how to dance from a tailor. If the teacher knows not his subject he cannot teach And is not worthy of the title “Master”. Only by experience may anything be truly learned. All the books in the world will not help The feet find their proper rhythm and discipline, Nor will they glorify the whole dancer without this. All things work together for good by unity. Many are the things that a book cannot teach. A surgeon cannot learn his trade until He takes up the scalpel and opens his first body. It is his Initiation into his Life’s Work. So a dancer learns to dance by taking the first step, And from the first there is always present The Master Teacher who guides every move. Nothing can remain unsupervised and undisciplined. Always there is stressed the Discipline of the Way. Without it there would be no Way, no Path; But the outer discipline does not work without the Inner. Self Discipline must bow its knee to the Inner Master. The outer is in submission to the Inner. This is the ordained Way established from the beginning. The heart of the Student must be willing to undergo That which the outer Teacher has to impart to him. He who is not willing to learn cannot be taught And he will remain an ignoramus, an idiot With two left feet that can’t follow The simplest instructions of the Sacred Way. Let the Sacred Dancer, in Union with the One, Become One with the Music of the Spheres, Until Dancer and Music move together in ecstasy In glorification to the Master Teacher of the Cosmos!
