Guest guest
Yes Dan, thanks. That first step IS a doozy. It reminds me of when I was learning to do the headstand in yoga. People all around me would, with a seeming lack of effort, get themselves up into headstands while I flailed away, trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Then one day I had the feeling, "I can do this." And I let my body lead me into the understanding of it all. The first understanding was that of fear. I feared falling, and the movement was just over the edge of that fear. Once I let go of that (by letting myself roll out onto the mat a few times) the rest came, and I learned that my body knew how to do the headstand IF I could get my head out of the way. After that I learned that the view from the world of the upside-down is absolutely wonderful! Same with this nonDual stuff: It's a matter of getting over the edge where your mind thinks it needs to be in control. You learn that what seemed upside-down is really the only way to go.
