David/Dan,

Funny you should mention that "first step" or threshold phenomenon, and

your yoga headstand, which came together with no controller and no

obstruction. When you said "I can do this," it reminded me of something

very similar happening to me. When I first was investigating the non-dual

perspective, I was also learning to ride a track bike with a fixed gear on

the NYC streets. This fixed-gear bike is a very light and fast bike with

no coasting, no freewheeling, and no breaks!!! Just a fixed chain between

the front and rear sprockets. You're always pedalling. These bikes are

used for velodrome and Olympic racing. When you learn, however, especially

on the street, you use a front brake. I was riding like this for several

months, using the brake less and less. One day, getting out of bed, I had

a VERY strong impression that "I can do this," accompanied by a body-sensed

imprint of how it would be to actually do it. So I took the break off, and

haven't used the brake on my track bike since!

It was a great free-sample, and non-duality is like this. It accomplishes

the already-accomplished, all by itself!

With love,
