Guest guest
Hi Tony, I've written to you before re Sai Baba and you were kind enough to forward much information re his being a"fraud" My experience with him started when I picked up the book Man of Miracles. It was the word miracles that caught my attention. I've read several books on him after that/ I needed to know if these miracles were real. I was a real sceptic. Anyway, I met at least three people who witnessed these miraclels, and two of them became a devotees. I was more of ajnani and not a bahkti and so couldn't surrender myself completely to him. The quote I most remember from him is that the reason I could not see him as divine is because I did not believe in my own divinity which was true. He also kept telling people not to stop with his form, for he is not the form, etc. Anyway, one mid-afternoon I was taking a nap and had a dream in which I was in an empty auditorium with a huge poster of his face on the stage. I was lifted up somehow from my seat and was floating towards his face in order to kiss his lips. As I approached his face, ready to kiss him, I was thrust through the poster and ended up walking through a quiet park, saying to myself that all this is very pleasant but I need to wake up because I have to fix my son a snack when he comes home from school. At which point I woke up. To me this dream meant for me not to stay with SAi Baba, the form. And I didn't. I started getting more involved with advaita (Ramana and Nisargadatta) and also with another book with the word miracles in it - A Course in Miracles. And that, Tony, is how I ended up being a Course student which is exactly right for me. So every step was important for me to be where I am today..just as it has been for you.
