Guest guest
Hello, My experience is this: When I am very relaxed and accepting of whatever comes along I have these very pleasant blissful almost physical feelings more or less located in the general area along the spinal column and up to the top of the head. I don't do anything to try to generate these feelings or to try to eliminate them. They used to come and go on an irregular basis, now they are more or less there consistently. Am I to do anything concerning these feeling or simply be with them? Is this some form of Kundelini effect? It took me many years of blaming external circumstances for my lack of so called progress in my spiritual life. My poor wife, Virginia went through Hell during this phase. Luckiily we both hung in there until this dodo realized that external circumstances had nothing to do with the spiritual path and that one has to look within rather than without. Additionally found that goal oriented forcing of meditation didn't do a hell of a lot. I did an hour or so of sitting meditation, watching the breath for about ten years. Then I did what I thought was dzogchen practice for several years which I now realize was being done by the mind instead of resting beyond the mind, For the last year or so I have been singing out loud the "Song of the Vajra" and the "Flight of the Vulture" as I walked my dog Boots through the fields and woods. I simply gave up expecting results and became very relaxed. It seems as if there was more progress made in that one year than in all previous years. Currently I am practicing Sri Ramana Maharshi's "Who am I" which is very powerful and can be applied most of the time in daily life. This is such a positive forum and all are so open and honest in their writings. I hope that the retreat in Rhode Island comes into being. It will be great to meet and talk to everyone who can make it there. I live near Staunton, Virginia and could use a ride from Virginia or Maryland sharing expenses of course. Please contact me at my son's email in Texas if you can help. -> Victor Torrico <torrico@tortek,com> Victor
