Not Suppose To Be

 

Things are not suppose to be

the way they are.

People should not be

how they are.

I should be different

than the way I am.

Things that happen to me,

should not happen.

Things that don't happen,

should happen.

 

Tomorrow should be this way.

They need to be that way.

I am to be a different way.

 

Cause and conditions

Make this like that,

And that not like this.

All beyond my control.

I can't even stop

the thoughts in my head.

 

All tell me to be

open acceptence

To the way things are

In all their wonders.

 

If only I could stop

and open my eyes,

open my mind,

open my soul,

open my heart

to what is

as it is.

 

What is, is,

And is as it is.

What is not, is not,

And is not as it is not.

 

The only certainty

is being on the Path,

Practicing the Way,

At best as I try,

sometimes,

at times.

And so it is like this.

Amen.
