Sounds good; I might treat myself to it! Ayurveda is fascinating, and there's one Ayurvedic remedy that I've found very effective for helping me stay grounded and focused, it's called Blissful Joy. I think it's helping >a little, I guess the effects are cummulative. I do find it quite >difficult! I also found it to be quite difficult but was glad that I stuck with it. As I watch my daughter go through her program I see the improvement for her on the prescription but I also see a tendency to expect the pill to do it all. For me while working with the kriya there were other benefits that I do not see her getting. Sometimes I would get so furious while doing the exercise that the fire-like energy of the frustration would fuel other activities. Also, I think that when one is depressed for long periods of time their sense of self-worth diminishes. In my situation just the simple act of not giving into the desire to bring down my arms gave my poor self esteem a much needed boost. >> At this point I might as well > mention that Kundalini Yoga does not work only to bring up the kundalini > it is a system that works to prepare the body especially the nervous > system for the energy of the kundalini. Guest guest
Hello Dharma, >I've heard stories about people getting into trouble with material from >3HO... with specific techniques, I think. Though I have no personal >experience with them. Yes, I've also heard stories but I've also heard stories about people getting into trouble with Iyengar Yoga. I've also seen people get into 'trouble' by simply meditating too much or working too intensely with mantra. The manuals from 3HO are very specific regarding length of time and technique but I wonder if people follow the instructions carefully. When we start working with yoga we are in a sense re-wiring ourselves and perhaps we would benefit from using the same common sense that we use when working with electrical equipment.
