Dear Harsha, Thanks you very much for telling us about your personal experiences with Kundalini. Yours is quite a story. It is amazing you didn't become frightened when it started. I must ask though, 6 months to break the granthis, isn't this a remarkably short time ? >My teacher used to say that the >spiritual path is like a dance. Thank you very much again for sharing with us and giving us this good advice. Love, Amanda. Guest guest
Dear Harsha, Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us and for presenting a very wise and balanced discussion about the role of fear on the path. Just wondering though -- there was a download attached to your message. l didn't download the attachment cause l'm always afraid it's a virus unless l know otherwise. Anything l missed here? love, jerry

As far as the granthis taking 6 months, that is just an approximation. It might have been seven months or five and a half months, etc. I had already gone through a horrific and a hellish period for almost three years from the ages of 18 to 21 This is the kind of stuff you would not wish for your worst enemy as TG has said and I have often thought as well. A process had started within me when I was 18 resulting in a fundamental change in my self cognition, not as an experience, but as a pure, simple, permanent fact. It decimated me as I knew me. The change was irrevocable. No recovery was possible. My state of mind (I was just only past my teen years) was that of unimaginable and unending suffering every waking minute and at night this continued in my dreams as well. The adjustment period was long and difficult and slowly pulled me deeper and deeper into prolonged and intense prayers (mostly begging and weeping to God to save me!), spiritual practices, and seeking the right teacher, the teaching, and the path. When Kundalini Shakti rushes up, the first granthi goes right away in Muladhara, the base of the spine. As Kundalini rushes up with full force repeatedly in meditation over time, the second one goes and finally the one at the third eye goes. After that the process becomes smooth. Anyway, that is how it was for me. Much is written about the granthis in the books but individual experience is the best. The Shakti processes are highly unique to each person, and they are dependent on multiple factors. Furthermore, there are many different nerves that the Shakti travels through both in the front and in the back of the spine leading to different experiences. The classic Hatha Yoga texts state that by Kundalini, one should master Kundalini. It means that by repeated experience, gradually one learns and advances through that experience. So experience is in fact the best teacher. Swami Sivananda used to say that where there is Yukti (common sense, adaptability, etc.) there is Bhukti (enjoyment) and Mukti (Liberation). Guest guest
Dear Harsha, Thank you for telling us about your experiences with kundalini. You are so good at encouraging us to speak, and bringing out even the most reticent, but usually you keep your self quietly in the background. It is very good to hear of your own struggle and know a little more about you. Love, Jill At 09:13 AM 3/22/00 -0500, you wrote: >"Harsha (Dr. Harsh K.
