Guest guest
Hi everybody, since it is my birthday today ) (and I have to go to work tonight ( ) and since I just saw that my Seven story which I had thought about sharing with you was not right, I will at least say a few things about a phenomenon many of you are familiar with, the Witness, which we all are. Apologies to those who have read this type of post here countless times before and grown tired of it. (taking the microphone ): It is exceedingly diffult to say anything about the witness. Because as soon as you say something about it, you remove the focus away from it. Words are not the witness, thoughts are not witness, emotions are not the witness. The body is not the witness. Then why it is so important to waste breath and talk about it ? Because the witness state is always there, unchangeable and never gone, even in sleep and dreams. It is the eye to all there is and it never shuts. Many witnesses have talked about it. It is the base reality, the mirror the zen masters talk about, the inner core of everybody. It is best seen when the coverings around the witness are calmed down, but even this is not necessary, as the witness is and will always be there. As many have said before, it is not something to climb up to or run after. The witness state can easily be achieved. (Of course, it is not the finality, otherwise my little old self would not be gabbing about it to you. ) Just look at your own inside and you are there. When the witness state shines alone and is aware of it, what is called samadhi ensues. It has been described as a desirable state by many. However, the samadhi is always there, inside, shining alone. Strangely enough. Hmmm... what more before I have to give the microphone to the next person ? Yes, whatever happens, there is the witness. Happiness, unhappiness, sadness, joy, the witness witnesses it all and is never spoilt by it. No matter what happens, no matter what it experiences, the witness stays the same, always pure. Beyond the perceived limitations of the body and the mind and the emotions and the thoughts, the witness is always there as a fixed point in reality. Base mind or base-ment ? Or base being ? Thanks for listening. ) I have to go to bed now. Love, Amanda. PS; I love the drama here. As well as Dharma. LOL !
