Dear List,

Talked on the phone with the Zen Center. The best weekend for them to have us is

July 15/16 and since the poll was a tie..that is now our choice by default. The

rooms accomodate up to three persons and the beds are futons on the floor, bring

your own sleeping bag or bedding. However, the bathrooms with showers are

separate and private, one person at a time. We would be the only "outside group"

even tho they can accomodate up to 75! people. So they need a minimum of 9-10

people to reserve it for us. All meals are provided by them and are vegetarian,

included in the $55/day rate. There is 50 acres of nature's peace and quiet and

beauty.

This is essentially why it was chosen over say some Ramada Inn along the

highway. However, if we do not have 10 people able to make it, we will have to

find another place. I know it may SEEM far in advance, but in fairness to Zen

Center and so as not to be making last minute alternative plans...PLEASE, email

me privately some indication that you can make it. If anyone would need to fly

into the Providence airport, one of us with cars could get you back and forth.

Thanks, Glo

Hi Glo,

Looks like we couldn't have a better date! I just took a fast look (blame

Astrolog if I'm wrong), and it looks like there's a Full Moon on the 16th

at 24 Cancer/Capricorn. The time of the Full Moon for Providence will be

9:55 am EDT.

Not only that, but at Providence the Ascendant will be 15 Virgo 54.9, and

the Part of Fortune (Spiritual Moon) will be at 15 Pisces 54.83... exactly

opposite on the Descendant!!

Also looked at Jupiter. The MC will be 13 Gemini, and Jupiter will be at 3

Gemini... 9th house.

How about them apples? :))))

Dharma

Golly Greg, still not past finding out if we get to10 people. No agenda yet, but

open to suggestions. I drove up from NYC just to bask in Harsha's smile a few

hours, that alone is worth the trip. We can plan whatever activities the group

wants to do and leave plenty of free time for walks and talks. What would you

like to do?

Again, my email is glee for those who don't show headers. If you

wrote me before, please reconfirm for this date of July 15/16.

The Zen Center keeps a meditation room available, and if you want to join them

at 5 am, you'd have company from the staff. Here is the URL tells all about the

place.

The date sounds good to me. Ideas, hmmm, here are some:

-meditation

-readings from books we love

-perceptual exercises/explorations

-kundalini classes/meditations

-yoga

-joke telling

-story telling

-marshmallow roasting

-readings from DROPPING ASHES ON THE BUDDHA,

in honor of the site's Kwan-Um Zen teacher Seung Sahn

-walks

-bike rides/canoeing?

Love,

Thanks Greg. That sounds like great ideas! Perhaps we could also sing

spiritual songs or chant. I can't sing but I love to listen. Also, if

someone can sing oldie goldies, or some of the 70s songs, that could be fun.

We could also visit the local zoo.

I like the idea of story telling and jokes as well Greg.

Harsha

Hi Greg,

Great ideas! Swimming? It's July...

My son's birthday, Solar Return, is the 15th. So, his father's b'day is

the 17th of July and often he takes him to Peru for that month, skiing.

So, then the timing looks good, but, if he is stateside then i will have

to be here ... so, we shall see ... Divine always has a much better plan

than I ...
