Guest guest
Hi Greg, Claude and all, Claude, your question is really interesting. I wanted to write something of the Kundalini energy and how it relates to a non-dual perspective, but Greg beat me to it. On Thu, 30 Mar 2000 17:39:43 Greg Goode wrote: >In advaita vedanta, the *formal* kind at least, energy is more abstract. >1. Creation from emanation, where creation precedes perception. The world >is Maya and Brahman at the same time. Really interesting, Greg ! ) I don't really see any big contradiction b/n the three teachings you mention there. Thanks for presenting them. I find your last sentence very interesting. Sri Lakshmanjoo, who was a teacher in the Kashmir Shaivism tradition, has written a 6 part piece on the Kundalini process. It can be found at the web site www.kashmirshaivism.org Sri Lakshmanjoo states that during the Kundalini process, there is a realization that "this is me", "I am this Kundalini". >From this perspective, the Kundalini becomes seen as the true proprietor of the physical body and even the thinking and feeling mind of what was previously perceived as oneself as well as those of others. Kundalini-Shakti becomes the creative as well as the perceptive power of the individual and the universe. And in this way, the only difference between those perceived as "Kundalini awakened" and those who are not, is that in the former the sensory apparatus is aware of the penetrance of something "not-self" yet commandeering of the individual self in the mind-body. Only at different times, when the Kundalini- Shakti contacts the individual self at a broad range of sensory modalities and flood it with itself, events called mudra, such as the often feared Kechari mudra and the Krama mudra, does its true nature manifest clearly for the individual self. (Poor thing ) But realization that "I am this Kundalini and so are everyone else" leaves the question, how can the energy, which in itself is true, at the same time also be something which is untrue (individual selves) ? The answer may as I see it be exactly what you have stated, the world and the universe is Maya and Brahman at the same time, Brahman is Maya and Brahman at the same time. Contradictory, I know.
