No meat, alcohol, sex, and bad company for 7 and a half years. No doubt you are struggling brother! Ha. Ha. Just trying to cheer you up buddy. :--). Actually, we would love to have you as one of the main speakers at the retreat on how you can lead such a pure life. You are a total inspiration Jerry! You make many wise, honest, and insightful comments Jerry and I respect you for that. You know we love you brother. We can empathize with others but often cannot share each other's suffering. Suffering does help us to develop wisdom and compassion in the long run. It can also make people cynical and bitter. Grapes when they get older become raisins Jerry. I hope, like the grapes, as we go through the sunshine and rain of our lives, we will become like raisins, totally wrinkled but sweeter :--). Grapes when they get older become raisins Jerry. Hello Harsha, Jerryananda is still in Hollywood, leaving me to answer your post. l certainly am not one to instruct others on how to lead a "pure life", in that to a large degree this has not been a matter of choice. The energy has affected my system in such a way that it only wants simple, bland, primarily cooked vegetarian foods, and it cannot tolerate alcohol. l've been a huge romantic all my life, but k has not only adversely affected my potency, but also any orgasm produces a major hangover. So again my system has sent me a message l haven't been able to ignore, and believe me this hasn't been easy. l still love the sight of an attractive woman and miss having intimacy with a woman, altho not as much as before. We hear there's a relationship between k and sexual energy. l don't know if l understand it, but l've sure been living it -- since the very first day my k awakened in 92. Strictly on an energetic level, it appears the sexual energy is being utilized by k to advance its progress. As to whether there's something else going on here, karma-wise, etc, who knows? l just trust it's happening for the best. As far as suffering breeding cynicism and bitterness .....are you referring to me here, Harsha? Bitter? C'est moi? Perhaps l sound that way at times. lf so, l sound more negative than l truly am, and this is usually precipitated by someone saying something STUPID! My sense from knowing many others who have had very difficult, prolonged k experiences is that we tend to have similar feelings about it: a combination of negative and positive emotions, depending on how far one has come on the journey. Hey, who's struggling? l'm making progress here ... l may yet (God help me) someday start sounding like some nauseatin' spiritual teacher! And finally, brother, l'm too old to be a f__king grape. l'm a raisin right now. :) love, jerrysan

As far as suffering breeding cynicism and bitterness .....are you referring to me here, Harsha? Bitter? C'est moi? No Jerry. Not at all. I was just making a general comment about how I would like to be a raisin when I am finished being a grape. You are obviously way ahead of me brother. Jerry, you have tremendous grace, a wonderful sense of humor, honesty, insights, and a captivating presence. I can easily imagine several beautiful women chasing you around your Zen garden trying to catch you. Your time will come Jerry, like other masters, when you have nice female devotees around you to massage your feet and all. Perhaps we will read about you in the Enquirer when the scandals break loose. I will always defend you Jerry as a true devotee in case you take a few missteps as many have done. Jerry, you actually seem to me like a remarkable example of Kundalini at work. More remarkable in many ways than Gopi Krishna, I think. I would like for you to contribute to a book on yoga that I am working on. You are an incredible writer. Let us make use of your massive talents to benefit humanity. By the way, this goes for others as well. I would like to put together a book that makes use of many very talented, wise and genuine people here. Your ideas will be appreciated. Thanks. Your kindness is far more instructive than my clumsy attempts to express thoughts. l should just be quiet and follow your example. (l'm sure most on the list agree! ) Don't hold your breath waiting for my sex scandals to emerge, though. Not that l don't have my share of fantasies, but not only am l crippled by k, but also my conscience is far more ruthless than any National Enquirer reporter. Also, l'm genuinely surprised that you would think there's anything remarkable about my process, as surely nothing great has happened, and l think you're being overly generous in your statements about my writing. Of course, l can't quite bring myself to dissuade you of all this .... (sigh) ...You could have made millions in sales... Regarding a book on yoga, based on my experience probably the only thing l am qualified to contribute would be a list of things NOT to do, along with a little comic relief ... and perhaps alot of questions (not answers), but l'd be happy to oblige. love, jerry
