I am sure you have your patients' very best interests at heart, but most people do not sufficiently educate themselves with respect to their own illnesses and take physicians and psychiatrists word as something close to God. I have seen a sister, Saskia, do this and she grew up with family physicians and psychiatrists and should know better. Listening to the surgeon (husband) instead of her nutritionist, cost her a painful trip to the hospital. So, you see, it is only that we wish to express another side of the coin, to ask for the voice of simple logic and reason. To ask people not to take one person's knowledge as law or God, you see? Most people, unfortunately, do not educate themselves even with respect to their own diseases, their own bodies, their own lives. We simply present another side, and in all fairness, one that is desperately needed against the weight of billions of dollars invested in the "voices of authority" yes? However, having been on the faculty of a medical school, I can say that I myself haven't seen instances of researchers fabricating or falsifying data due to their funding sources. But I do think that non- pharmaceutical remedies (including nutritional ones) have far fewer resources devoted to them b/c of the source of med school research funding (drug companies). >So, you see, it is only that we wish to express another side of the >coin, to ask for the voice of simple logic and reason. I am all for education and diversity of opinions However, I do have trouble with the conspiracy theory-like notion that the majority of Western society is being taken advantage of by the evil pharmaceutical companies (especially since I see both psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications literally saving lives on a daily basis). This is not to say that I would trust the executives from drug companies to watch my house while I am on vacation, but neither do I think that they are the devil incarnate. I appreciate your point of view, and admire the passion with which you forward it. Namaste- Mike
