On Antidepressants and Truth

Discussions of medications

and industries, and laboratories

 

Chemicals between the nerves

in the rivers, and on the mind

 

Attachment to my point of view

my profession, and my friends

 

But none of these is truth.

 

How much better for me

to gently look within

to try to find

what I know is true.

 

And when I find it

I can bask in its warmth

and live on its substance.

 

And, ya know-

In this little bit I know is true

There are no chemicals

or rivers, or labs

or multibillion-dollar corporations

 

In this place, there is judgment

no right, nor wrong

no good or bad

No arguments, discussions

or even hugs

 

Only the light of love

Stripping away the shadow of the illusion

And leaving the loud silence of truth

Blending with the soothing current

of God.
