Yo Mark, This big sigh is one of the warmups we do a few times before singing, high and loud then going down as we let the air out. It is a real letting go of tension, like you said. Try after then breathing deeply, first into your back, then lower, then all the way to the floor..you can feel this breath connect and ground you to your whole, now relaxed, body. (But then othertimes I just lose it, as you may have noticed.) Anyways, I about went nuts when you shared David Whyte's poetry. I met him giving a poetry reading way back in 1985 or so, when he had his first little pamphlet of poems, and I have watched for every book since. If you want I'll dig up a couple of my favorites. How did you run across his poetry? Hugs friend, Glo
Guest guest
Hi Glo, I think my friend Mary pointed me to David Whyte's poetry - oh yeah, it was his book on allowing the spirit of poetry into the workplace - dunno what it's called... that she found first. I also have collected his books and tapes (I love the way he reads a line 2, 3, even 4 times to see how it sinks in deeper each time. Who else does that? Oh yeah, Stephen Levine...) I read my own poetry that way now. (YUM) I'd love to see more of his stuff! hugs are the BEST!!! Love, Mark Gloria Lee wrote: > > > Mark W.
