Jesus sages and the West.

Namaste All,

When I was living in Brisbane and my children were

small, I asked one of my sons who Jesus was?

His answer: 'He was a magic man and he had twelve

possums!' hahahah

Jesus came out of the Essenic background not the

normal upbringing.

I don't think it is a matter of putting Jesus above

other sages. It is just that he is more well known in

the West, that's all. He is the only sage known to

Westerners for a couple of thousand years.

One must remember he was also known and respected in

India before most of the West knew about him. St Isa!

Most religions are really into mega-control and it is

no different with Christianity. The fundamentalists

are not aware enough to realise that Jesus talked as

the Universal and as a man They probably think that

Christ is his surname instead of describing a state of

jivanmukta.

Om Namah Sivaya, Tony.

When I was little, I was asked if I knew what April Fool's Day was. I said:

"That's when Jesus jumped up out of the grave and yelled 'Surprise!'"

I prefer your account, Dharma, to the original. Was it a grave he jumped

from, or was it a cake?

I wonder if what we've been told about the physical literal resurrection of

Jesus was a Roman political ploy designed to convince the naive populous

about the superiority of the empire's official religion.

I suspect this partly because this physical resurrection account is cited by

many as proof of the validity & superiority of Christianity. Whether or not

the physical resurrection is true matters little, the fact is that is has

been used as a ploy to advance the religion, an advertisement to attract

more followers.

Perhaps Jesus was experienced after death in the psyche of witness and not

literally in the flesh. Of course Yogananda gives several account in his

autobiography of Saints in India returning in the flesh, so who knows.

I only object to the superiority of Jesus as bigger and better. Jesus says

as much in Matthew: 'why do you call me good, there is none good but one and

that is God.'

I like Barry Long's comments: something like: 'Jesus was no more God than

you or I!!! Except that he had realized this truth.'
