Guest guest
Namaste All, Roger,. You ask have I experienced death-I sleep every night!! Talking about my own experiences, yes I have experienced death in various degrees. I have had concsious out of body experiences on the close vital, not that spiritual! On another occasion in India, a raggedy monk in his subtle form appeared in my room, on an ashram. He indicated that I should touch his back near his shoulder, I don't whether I was out of the body or in it. I touched him and was immediately transported up through all the planes. To initially mishapen ghoulie types, the ordinary types, then to amorphous types, then eventually to 'beings of coloured light energy'. At this stage the Bliss was incredible, the monk was no longer in my consciousness, then I moved into a 'no mind state', with no memory. I then came down and was still remembering bliss feelings. Since this time I have been able to 'visit', dead people on the lower and even bliss planes, after they have died. I don't make a practice of this siddhi just use it occasionally with some relatives. For example with an aunt, with her former partner, who was killed in Burma, a posthumous V.C.and was looking for her after she died a couple of years ago. Or with a 22 years old neice who was serving in the Army, had done many peace keeping stints in Bosnia, and was being trained for Kosova and died in her sleep, on military training. She had things to say to her family and my brother. So I have never used it for egoistic purposes, just mainly for other people. So yes Roger I know what 'death' is and have experienced it consciously. In the end, finally leaving the body is just separating from attachments. This takes nothing away from the tragedy of a life cut short or the pain of some deaths. Sometimes in meditation things can happen, states, bliss etc, but one usually isn't looking for an experience so one mentally cut through all the planes to find the place of peace. Mind you I didn't seek the experience in India either. The monk looked like a Tibetan Buddhist and I was in a Hindu environment! Now this is of course in the illusory mind, but whilst we still have one, these experiences happen! The truth of my experiences is the 'no-mind', state. Roger in good faith, I hope this answers your question! Yes I know Columbine is a tragedy, and I like all have had deaths very close to me, a child, a first young wife etc. But death is an illusion, most are unconscious so don't even experience the separations.Living is the pain. dukkha! Do you recall whether you were awake or asleep when this monk appeared to you? None of this sounds quite like a near death experience or actually dying, but still very interesting. What was the cause of your niece's death? Also, if you don't mind my curiosity, what's your vocation? jerry
