None of this sounds quite like a near death experience or actually dying, but still very interesting. What was the cause of your niece's death? Also, if you don't mind my curiosity, what's your vocation? < I actually was lying on my airbed just totally relaxed, in the afternoon, when the monk appeared in his subtle body. Whether I was hypnogogic, deeply relaxed or what, I don't know except I was conscious. I meditate a lot so I may have been in a pre-meditative state. No need to travel up the sushumna, or tunnel or silver cord, for I was already there, just about. As I mentioned I have had other OBEs where, I was just out of body and for all intents still on this plane. I see no difference in this leaving the body, and dying except in dying one doesn't usually return to the same body. For there is no death, only separation. All in illusory mind anyway. It is my guess that most people do not experience death as such, for they are unconscious. To be conscious at death takes training etc. I think Jesus actually taught the 'death' of 'death'. My niece was found in her army bunk dead from a 'heart attack', although she was young and healthy. The post mortem revealed no cause!! as such. Just left the body I suppose. If it is our karma to go, then one doesn't have to be dying slowly of something. She actually didn't spend much time in the bardo before the second death, and was up in the 'Bliss', planes very quickly. Did not want to know about this plane, except for the messages, that's all. I don't really have a vocation, except for marketing, of various types, and some writing. Jerry I hear you live in Cincinatti? Is the workhouse jail still there? or the Ratskeller?
