Guest guest
*Greg I wish we got this magazine in my country for what Wellwood is talking about is very much what I am interested in at present. John Wellwood: "Yet along the way I also discovered something I was not prepared for: that spiritual realization is relatively easy compared with the much greater difficulty of actualizing it, integrating it fully into the fabric of one's daily life. Realization is the movement from personality to being, the direct recognition of one's ultimate nature, leading toward liberation from the conditioned self, while actualization refers to how we integrate that realization in all the situations of our life." *I have been drawn to the Sufi (transpersonal therapist & author) Almaas, because he tackles this same stage along the path/no path. I have been discussing this very topic elsewhere. Let me share what I wrote yesterday .. You see I believe there can come a stage where at first Witness is in the background of our awareness. And it is very hlepful for detaching from the drama then. Wonderful. A Still Eye in the storm. Later on after sunyata Witness may be in the foreground, & actually hiding what trauma still exists unhealed in the still present ego structure with its habituated boundaries of patterns of self beliefs. Sunyata is transcendence of manifestation but it is not total healing OF those structures! Many would expect it would be. In this way I see Spirit gets to still play ~ first in consciously turning around & listening to own vulnerable inner child, & learning to practice unconditional Love in a conditional realm of duality. I presume after one has that achieved, One is then ready to go & Love everybody else back Home too! This is the after spiritual realisation has already been achieved. Almaas calls this transcendence of the mind & body (already died to & been reborn). Then this (impersonal) Nothingness Source awareness can coexist alongside the personal(ity). It's All Being. This is when the hard work of actualisation starts to occur. Almaas calls this embodiment after transcendence. It is also why I have been discussing the difference between sunyata & moksha with Frank at Advaitin list. Andrew Cohen is giving a similar message about don't stop at emptiness. Move into fullness (embodiment). We are both unmanifest (inpersonal pure awareness) as well as the personal manifestation. It seems embodiment is about now not witnessing, but actually diving into Oneness of what Is. Absorption. In this way whatever personality issues remain for healing are able to Be healed from conscious unconditional awareness, as they are not witnessed but lived FELT rawly :-) So you can face them fully & transmute them. This is a topic dear to my heart cause I have many of my dear friends here & there, and we have all obviously had profound deep insights glimpses, yet reactivity is acting out , as we are being asked to now unconditionally love our personalities back into full alignment with the One (unconditioned) Self. It is now I will say a sincere apology to any I have reacted to in the past. Each & everyone of us cannot offer unconditional love till we have first embraced it for ourselves. I see this as the task of actualisation (or embodying infinite freedom awareness) As Self. I acknowledge I am still loving myself back into alignment with That One ~ I Am. My Love & hugs to All, Col
