The substance of mind is Manas with primary activity

in Mano maya Kosa

The substance of Kundalini is a type of prana And the

prime locality is

the

PranamayaKosha

The substances are different as are their spheres of

influence

G*j*?

Namaste All, David,

It is my guess that Lakshamana Swami, when writing

bout the mind, is referring to its primordial

manifestation. That is, there is Nirguna Brahman and

then there is Sakti,( or Siva/Sakti). The only

difference between Siva/Nirguna Brahman and Saguna

being manifestation or 'mind'.

The mind takes on different 'roles' as opposed to

different forms. Pranamayakosa is of course the seat

of what we call K, and in fact energy. Manomayakosa is

just another role or kosa, for recording in the chitta

or funtioning in memory etc.

In my recent post about Om Tat Sat/Sat Tat Om, one can

see this also. For here we have Sat or Nirguna

Brahman, and then we have Tat/Om, creation and the

consciousness within, Saguna Brahman. Not really

separate but roles of Saguna Brahman or the Devi.

So we have Siva then Sakti then manifestation,

prana/karma!

When the role of K has cleaned the kosas and more

particularly the 'Buddhi', of the intellect or

vjnanamayakosa then moksha can occurr. The scum on the

pond that prevents the pure reflection of the sun is

gone. This awareness then merges the reflection with

the reflector and finds there never was any reflection

or even a reflector.

Om Namah Sivaya, Tony.
