I was going to suggest to you that the digest version of the list might be more suitable since you travel, but the digest version won't solve any in box size problems. And then you say this: >Added to the rather slow transfer rate in India, ... big mails cause a problem. Big as in the Digest. Right. We should snip. At least a little. OK... if you have serious problems with the in box size and number of mails, you may wish to change web mail server to one that provides a larger account, make up more than one mail account say one for work related mails and one for private mails (probably you already did) or only read the list directly at onelist. Onelist has a decent reply system, so one can still be a member of the list but only read messages on the web. However, the onelist system can be slow as it contains a lot of information, so the problem with slow transfer is not solved with this approach either. I'm just thinking loud here Sudipt, to see what can be done with high volumes and low transfer rates. Love, Amanda. Guest guest
If it may help, I have been using the archives of /onelist for a couple of weeks, being d on no-mail, but still having access to the archives. This may solve the problem of the 2mb mail box, since you do not receive the emails. But it does not solve the band with problem, au contraire, if you pay the bds you receive, brownsing the archives is more bds expensive than simply recieving the e-mails. Wish i could cut away the publicity, the bds would go down by 50% at least. Putting the brownser on no image (for publicity) may limit this problem. And there is no accumulation of email in your pop, or pc, while you are away. One thing interesthing with the archives over the onelist, is that they are uptated more than every minute. So one may follow the exchange more closelly, if he/she fells like it. As if they where coming in the in the mail box. Pushing farder, with the free service of lest say Net mind: http://www.netmind.com One may even be alerterd each time a page is changed like: /messages/ But i would not suggest not using net-mind on a page like this last one. One would receive a generated email 30 times a day telling that the page has been changed. One thing less interesthing for me, is that there is no intergrated spell corrector yet integrated to this repply system that I am using now. But with a little cut and paste the problem may be solved, when i am not to lasy.
