Info on TM-Maharishi's Guru Dev, anyone?

Hello all!

I thought there might be someone on this list who would know.

Just out of curiosity, I would like to find some sources of

information on Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's (the founder of the TM

movement) teacher, Guru Dev, whose whole name apparently

was Swami Brahmananda Saraswati Maharaj, Jagatguru, Bhagavan

Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Badrikashram, Himalayas.

Anything, like web addresses or refecences to printed books

or articles would be appreciated. I'd be interested in information

like some sort of biography, about the teachings, relation to

the birth of the TM movement, and relation to the TM techniques

themselves. Most sites I could find on the web merely mentioned

him to show respect but the actual content was usually just

marketing the Maharishi stuff, having scarcely any real

information.

Grateful in advance for any possible info,

Jani

HI Jani. Brahamanda Sarswati was a great Yogi who later became

Shankracharaya of Jyotir Math. His picture is given in "Living with the

Himalayan Masters" by Swami Rama. Dirk may have more comprehensive

information about him and can say more.

For those who may not know, Dirk is one of our most distinguished

contributors. He was one of the original Purushas (monks) of the TM

movement. Dirk has in the past mentioned Brahmananda Sarswati on the list

and might share more.

Harsha
