Your stories always put a smile on our lips of love and appreciation. >In >certain rare Samadhis, the breath is completely sucked out from the lungs >and even the heart stops temporarily. It seems to me there are times when the body and mind must face what it most fears. For me, losing the breath and the heartbeat has "always" indicated death of the physical body or at best, a serious disease, requiring one of those electrical shocks they give in hospitals to jump start the heart and body back to life again. Also, for a long time I have been associating slowing down / loss of breath with the portal of death as a memory from the past. When going home to visit my parents over Christmas, my heart stopped three or four times on the night train, for short periods. That did not remove my fear of loss of breath altogether, but did a lot to lessen that fear. If someone had told me about this a year ago, I would not have thought it was possible. Love, Amanda.
