I am posting this in part as a response to a kind message

from Harsha.

----------------------------

You are most welcome. I have found that the nds and your site to be

quite, shall we say, illuminating. When I first started lurking and

posting about on nds, I in short time d. At that time the

list was rather confrontational and had the air of some sort of a

contest.

What drew me back to the list, I may never know. HAHAHAH! I am

grateful for the list. Participating has aided me in becoming more

quiet and calm. When certain posts seem to be a bit confrontational I

find that the lesson is to let it go. By not speaking from ego or

mind, only allowing the quiet place to provide response, often no

response is required. Other times, well, I am just amazed by what

comes!

This quiet place is where I see that you also respond from. As a

child of about 13 or 14 I was a great fan of science fiction.

I simply devoured every sf book or periodical that I could get my

hands on. Through or because of all this reading, I developed a

strong desire for paranormal powers. One afternoon as I was

struggling to be able read minds or move objects I was undergoing

the most intense inner struggle.

An inner voice arose as a presence. It was amused with my efforts for

I felt the calm indulgence of a favorite uncle. This voice asked me

what I would do if I did have great powers. I responded that I would

right wrongs and stop the bad guys. Then I was asked how I would

know who was bad and who was good. I of course responded that the bad

guys would just be bad and I would know. Well then, how would I stop

them? I would just stop them with my powers. Oh, and would that then

make them better, better people doing better things. I said that

I would make them change, I would correct thier way of thinking and

behaving.

The voice, with quiet amusement, then asked me what made me think

that I had the right to do such a thing. Ah, at that moment, an

epiphany! I learned that it is better to show a better way than to

force someone to the good. Of course I went on and did all the dumb

things that teenagers do! But that lesson has remainded.

Thanks to the inner voice.

I have tried to teach my children to listen to the quitest place

within themselves when faced with a difficult choice in life. That

place is the source of love and will not steer us wrong. But, we

have to learn to listen.

Namaste, Harsha and all!

HAHAHAH and HOHOHO!

Peace - Michael
