The Full Moon of Gemini is today, June 16, at 10:27 pm GMT (6:27pm EDT). A

Full Moon is always the culmination or climax of the monthly cycle.

Energies are much higher, and it's the best time of the month to meditate

and do Kundalini work.

The three Full Moons of spring are celebrated by many people around the

world, who meet for meditation then. DK says, in a booklet from the MGNA

(Meditation Group for the New Age):

> The Full Moon of June is recognized as that of the Christ, just

>as the Full Moon of May is that of the Buddha. It has long been a legend

>(and who shall say that it is not a fact?) that at each Full Moon of June,

>Christ repeats and preaches again to the hearts and minds of men the last

>sermon of the Buddha, thus linking the full enlightenment of the

>pre-Christian era and the wisdom of the Buddha to the cycle of the

>distribution of the energy of love, for which Christ is responsible....

> This is, therefore, a festival of deep invocation and appeal, of

>a basic spiritual aspiration toward fellowship, of human and spiritual

>unity, and represents the effect in the human consciousness of the work of

>the Buddha and of the Christ. It is known also as the Festival of

>Unification or the Festival of Goodwill.

(More on this subject can be found in the next post.)

At this Full Moon today, the Moon itself is on the exact degree of the

Galactic Center at 26 Sagittarius! There are many other stars crowding the

area, more than I could show on a chart. I consider this a very important

and powerful Full Moon, even though the pattern of the chart as a whole is

not especially impressive.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon's degree (by Dane Rudhyar) is:

>SAGITTARIUS 26': A SCULPTOR AT HIS WORK.

>

>KEYNOTE: The ability to project one's vision upon and to give form to

>materials.

>

>At this stage we see the individual creatively expressing his own

>particular individuality. He takes the materials available in his

>social-geographical environment and shapes them so they reveal to other

>people something of his inner life and purpose.

>

>The sculptor represents man as a creative individual intent on making his

>mark upon society. This is a symbol of man's capacity to transform raw

>materials according to his personal vision - thus a symbol of

>SELF-PROJECTION INTO A WORK.

Marc Edmund Jones, who was part of the collaboration that produced the

Sabian symbols and who gave the first interpretation, says: "Mastery of

formative intelligence over substance. Sure characterization and

understanding. Permanent self-expression."

Opposing the Moon is the Sun at 26 Gemini... with it are Venus at 27

degrees and Mars at 0 degrees of Cancer. Sun and Moon are male and female,

outer and inner, the will or the source of energy (Sun) and the

distribution of energy, the way and ease of channeling it (Moon), according

to Dane Rudhyar. Every Full Moon presents us with this powerful opposition

of Son and Moon, two poles of a powerful field. But this one brings in the

Galactic Center itself... and with the Sun are Mars and Venus, the

physical or aggressive, and the emotional, the other two representatives of

the male and female principles. And they are with the powerful stars

Polaris and Betelgeuse at 28 Gemini and Menkalinen at 29 Gemini.

The Sun degree symbol is:

>GEMINI 26': A GYPSY EMERGING FROM THE FOREST WHEREIN HER TRIBE IS ENCAMPED.

>

>KEYNOTE: Coming out toward participation in a larger whole of

>mind-structured existence.

>

> Here we see at work a process which depends upon the individual - a

>conscious attempt to leave behind the tribal-instinctual stage of

>earthbound existence and to emerge into the realm of mind and complex,

>tense interpersonal relationships (i.e. the city).

> The "wild" drives of nature are reaching toward a situation in which

>they will be "tamed."

> This reveals a period of transition, a more or less clear yearning for

>a new state of consciousness, and thus for inner transformation. It is a

>phase of REPOLARIZATION.

The symbol for Venus is:

>GEMINI 27': THROUGH BANKRUPTCY, SOCIETY GIVES TO AN OVERBURDENED

>INDIVIDUAL THE OPPORTUNITY TO BEGIN AGAIN.

>

>KEYNOTE: A release from unbearable pressures, freeing one for new tasks.

>

> This symbol can easily be misinterpreted, for while it obviously has a

>connotation of failure, it nevertheless depicts a particular state of the

>complex relationship of an individual to his community. The bankruptcy

>proceedings mentioned here should not be construed as referring to a

>fraudulent type of bankruptcy. At least in the United States bankruptcy

>does not imply a moral condemnation; rather, it means that individual

>failure cannot be separated from the health of the community. The special

>nature of the whole is implied in the failure of the part to perform

>adequately under particularly harsh economic conditions. A society which

>enthrones the principle of ruthless competition must also develop

>mechanisms to exteriorize the principle of compassion. The latter was at

>first emphasized by Northern Buddhism, and soon after by Christianity. The

>concept of atonement is directly related to that of release from

>unbearable economic pressures in bankruptcy.

>

> Here we have another kind of "leaving behind," a LIBERATlON FROM THE PAST.

And the symbol for Mars, in Jones' version, is:

>CANCER 0. SAILOR READY TO HOIST A NEW FLAG TO REPLACE OLD ONE.

>

>The nascent desire to align oneself with a larger and more significant

>life trend. Compelling decision. Repolarization.

Uranus is retrograde at 20 Aquarius, trine the Sun and sextile the Moon,

which forms the pattern called an Easy Opposition. The energies of Sun and

Moon can most easily be channeled through Uranus, the intuition, in

Aquarius, the sign of group consciousness and the New Age of the

Water-bearer.

>AQUARIUS 20': A DISAPPOINTED AND DISILLUSIONED WOMAN COURAGEOUSLY FACES A

>SEEMINGLY EMPTY LIFE.

>

>KEYNOTE: The capacity to meet emotionally upsetting experiences in human

>relationships with strength of character and personal integrity.

>

>The man who manages vast and complex business enterprises most often

>reaches power and achieves success because of his ability to deal with

>crises and temporary reverses of fortune. At the emotional level we now

>see a 'woman' confronted with sharp disappointment and forced to face the

>vanishing of cherished illusions, presumably in terms of a close personal

>relationship. She has to learn to manage such crises, which are really

>tests of inner strength and perhaps compassion. We all have within

>ourselves the power to learn through emotional crises. But like any other

>faculty it needs development.

>

>... [This symbol] urges us to develop RESILIENCE under adversity.

Rudhyar sometimes takes liberties with his reinterpretation of the original

symbols themselves. Here is Jones' version:

>AQUARIUS 20': A WOMAN IS DISAPPOINTED, AS A MAN LEAVES HER BOUDOIR.

>

>Capitalization upon misfortune by which spiritual justification is gained.

>Supremacy over experience. Inward retirement.

In the Full Moon chart for planet Earth, the Sun is in the second house of

money and prana, the Moon in the eighth house of finance and

transformation, and Uranus at the midheaven in the tenth house of fame and

career. Since Uranus is also the planet of high-level electrical energy

and of sudden change and eratic actions, we may see some startling

occurrences in the news.

The way this chart affects you depends very much on where you live. For

instance, if the Full Moon takes plae at high noon where you live, the Sun

will be directly overhead at the Midheaven. If it takes place at dawn, the

Sun will be rising in the East and will be on the chart Ascendant for your

area. It also depends on your own birth chart and how they correlate, what

points in your own chart are triggered by the Full Moon planets.

Uranus is still square Saturn and Jupiter at 25 and 27 Taurus. The

conjunction of these two planets is a difficult combination of opposite

kinds of energies... expansion with contraction, openness and beneficence

and joviality with organization and attention to detail, the Major Fortune

with the Great Teacher that brings lessons to learn. This can manifest in

various ways... as the urge to both push and pull, both expand and

contract, and thus extreme nervousness... an alternation of these very

different modes of energy... or, at best, the use of organization and

detailed work for expansive and beneficent purposes. Unfortunately, these

two planets are with the star Algol, which has a very bad reputation...

but they are approaching the Pleides at the end of Taurus.

The symbols for Saturn and Jupiter (from Jones) are:

>TAURUS 25': A SPANISH SERENADER AT THE WINDOW-GRILLE OF HIS BELOVED.

>

>Power of well-defined desire which assures success in all life-contacts.

>Imaginative power that compels manifestation.

>TAURUS 27': MATURE WOMAN REAWAKENED TO ROMANCE ADMIRES HERSELF

>

>New perspective on life, genuine rejuvenation. The compelling charm of

>mature experience. Rebelliousness of inner hopes.

I find it very interesting that the symbol for the degree (26 Taurus) of

the "evil" star Algol shows "a withered old squaw"... and Jones speaks of

wisdom and destiny. In these three symbols we seem to have the triple

Goddess: maiden, mother, and crone.

There is another possible pattern in this chart. We don't usually show the

Moon's Nodes as part of the patterns... but if we did, then we would see

here a Finger of Fate, formed by the North Node at 26 Cancer, sextile

Saturn and Jupiter, and all quincunx the Moon. So this Finger of Fate

pointing at the Moon would show something that is meant to happen this

month, involving these planets.

You already have the symbols for the planets in this figure. The symbol

for the degree of the North Node is:

>CANCER 26': A VIOLENT STORM IN A CANYON FILLED WITH EXPENSIVE HOMES.

>

>KEYNOTE: A confrontation with a social upheaval demanding the

>reconsideration of static values.

>

> The deeper implications of the scene depicted in the symbol are that

>the sociocultural elite can always see its position and security

>challenged by forces beyond its control, even if it may be successful in

>protecting itself from destruction. The individual may not be able to

>depend on the standards and values he has acquired through education and

>through a relatively sheltered and rich life. He has to rise to the

>occasion, and perhaps to undergo an inner metamorphosis as a result of the

>crisis he has been able to accept as a personal challenge.

>

> This symbol shows the challenge to meet a crisis situation produced by

>uncontrollable karmic forces that could lead to a successful CATHARSIS.

And Jones' version is:

>CANCER 26': A FURIOUS STORM RAGES THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL CANYON.

>

>Intensification of elements necessary to arouse latent possibilities.

>Rising to the occasion. A descent of cosmic power.

Pluto is retrograde at 11 Sagittarius, still close to the powerful Martian

star Antares, and conjunct a retrograde Chiron at 13 degrees. Retrograde

Neptune at 6 Aquarius sextiles Pluto, an aspect of ease, and aspects

Praesepe and the Aselli in Leo on degrees of light or darkness.

Mercury looks rather inconsequential at Cancer 18, but it is quincunx

Uranus... and if we accept a wide orb with the Moon (by Oken's principle

of the sharing of the light), then we have another Finger of Fate, pointing

to Mercury. Its symbol (from Jones) is:

>CANCER 18': AN ARISTOCRATIC AND FRAIL GIRL WEDS A PROLETARIAN YOUTH.

>

>Blending of the cultural fruition of the past with the impetuousness of

>new blood. Assimilation of unconscious contents.

If you would like a copy of the Full Moon chart, drop me a private email.

I do Earth charts with an Ascendant of 18 Taurus. The symbol is:

>TAURUS 18': A NEW CONTINENT RISING OUT OF THE OCEAN.

>

>KEYNOTE: The surge of new potentiality after the crisis.

>

>The 'technique' is simple: TO ALLOW the infinite Potential to operate in

>unconstrained SPONTANEITY. This means to have reached a state in which the

>conscious, rational ego is no longer a controlling factor.
