Guest guest
Jerry, I went to powells.com and found that they had one copy of the Avadhut Gita. But when I got there [in de flesh] they had none. So, I went to the New Renaisance book store and they didn't have one. They had some much annotated versions but I didn't want that. I prefer the straight translations without the commentaries. So, I went to the Powell's annex on SE Hawthorne and they didn't have one. I did find a delightful book of poetry of selected works from K. Khemananda - _The Valley_. :-)) May you all enjoy this one: --- Never Will Land is our body Joy is our heart People is our mentality Mystic is our being Dream is our time Pure movement is our living Empty is our ego Nothing is our reaction Useless is our power Truth is our lover in dream There, alone something undecayable which I don't know and never will! ----------------- And here are some short untitled ones ----------------- "What will I be ?" The Being is "What will I do ?" The Being does "How will I live ?" The being has done. --- Don't go into the body Don't go into the mind Yet don't go out of the body Don't go out of the mind Only there, and that is enough. --- You always live in the river of the divine, you are the fish, no need to dream of being the bird in the sky. --- Hell Heaven Earth Man God are not-two. ------------ That is enough! [this last one is from Mu] ;-)) HAHAHAH and HOHOHO! Peace - and Dream - Michael
Guest guest
Hey Michael, I have a copy, translated as DATTATREYA: The Song of the Avadhut, transl. by Swami Abhayananda. I think I got it through the SAT organization in California. It was published by ATMA Books, 3430 Pacific Ave. S.E., Suite A-6144, Olympia, WA 98501. If you'd like I can bring it to the retreat! Paths, places, sights, perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self. Guest guest
Apologogies that the chapters arrived out of sequence -- vagaries of the internet, eh. I would have uploaded them as a word file to the files section, but do not have access. Hopefully, those interested will read in the original order.
