And judging from the way I didn't understand the word snipe, a simple mind as well. But thank you very much for your kindness, Michael and Glo and thank you for explaining the prank to me. I now have completely revealed myself as the new freshman from overseas that I am. But I agree, it is a good metaphor. Thanks, Glo, the trip went fine and was fun. It was good to meet my sister and mother again. We had a lot of fun sightseeing and doing really touristy things, taking one of these guided bus tours through town and making snapshots beneath the Eros statue at Piccadilly circus . There is always lots to see in London and you could stay there for weeks browsing shops and the countless museums there. The town is really "user friendly" for visitors, since the underground train system allows everyone to get around easily and cheaply. My mom and sis must have bought half the city (sale) and I was for once money conscious and only bought 3 CDs and 3 books. London was surprisingly chilly for the season and I had completely overrated the weather and only brought warm weather clothes. By Monday I was completely knocked out by a cold, could hardly lift a finger, let alone browse the city streets of London, so my sis had to guide our mom thru Hyde Park and down to the Knightsbridge shopping area that day. The trip home was a loong one, as the plane was delayed 3 hours, but the luggage actually made it w/out any problems, so the airline company should at least have that. And I have to add my voice to the old clichee, English food just isn't very good. Good to see activity picked up on the list. Love, Amanda.
