Guest guest
Hi all, I want to share a poem I wrote several years ago with you to welcome Mary's participation here and to introduce her heart. She and I were canoeing along a peaceful stretch of water connecting a pond to a lake, watching a blue heron flying ahead to reconnoiter for us, when suddenly all hell broke loose. We were surrounded by beavers who were not sure how to welcome us... Later that evening I listened to her heart. yum Her Heart Her heart beats heron beats. Once... Smell the water's silver mirror. Twice... Hear beaver slap the hand of God. Many times... See minnows laugh again. Her heart beats heron beats; Strong, slow, and graceful beyond compare. welcome, Mary Love, Mark
