Guest guest
Dear Jason, Hi Jason, welcome to the satsangh!! Well, in a way I am still wondering about evil too. I still wonder about a lot of things, truly I do. I wonder most if we really need to know answers to everything! Lately, I have a lot of good reasons to be content with "don't know" as an answer, and to enjoy the mystery of life. So many of our questions are just fears of the ego anyway, aren't they? Last night I finally watched the video of "Jacob's Ladder" because a lot of people had said it was good and about the bardo realms, which is also just as true of the life here and now. Even in the Tibetan book of the dead, it ends up saying all these perceptions are our imagination. So in the movie, one of the good guys tells the hero about an Eckhart quote that says (loosely) if you have not made your peace, you will experience as demons and evil whatever is trying to break your attachments to this world. But if you have made peace, you will experience them as ministering angels come to deliver you from your attachments. This makes a lot of sense to me. This makes a lot of sense to me. yeah, i like that. it's useful. evil becomes so difficult to talk about becuase it is quickly reduced to "an ego problem", which i agree with. (evil becomes a perception rather than an absolute...) i get frustrated when physical-world woes are discounted by Masters as being "a dream". rather, i think (as someone who seems to be deluded into thinking that i am a physical body for all practical purposes) that our physical-world problems are nontrival. .... like evbl. but, hey, ... what can ya do? (dont' know mind!) -j
