I remember Llama Lama very well.

He had a somewhat difficult temper, and

would punish his students not by using his

cane, but by spitting on them. He considered

this more effective, as it was less violent

and thus more in accordance with the concept of ahimsa, but all the more

humiliating for the students. He also had his students perfor

karma yoga by knitting wool hats and ponchos for the local population, who were

very poor.

I unfortunately developed tendonitis of the wrists and was unable to knit and

left the group some years ago.
