This is the Internet doorway to Kali Mandir, an authentic

Hindu shrine/temple to Mother Kali, located in Laguna Beach,

California.

 

Kali Mandir is the little sister of the famous Kali Temple

at Dakshineswar in Calcutta. Ma Kali Dakshineswari

was installed in Laguna Beach by Sri Haradan Chakraborti, the

head priest at the Dakshineswar Temple. The Kali temple at

Dakshineswar was home to Sri Ramakrishna and his wife Sri

Sarada Devi. The worship at Kali Mandir, officiated by Swami

Bhajanananda Saraswati, is done in accordance with the traditions

established by Sri Ramakrishna himself at Dakshineswar.

 

Kali Mandir is open to the public and holds daily pujas,

monthly amavaysa (new moon) pujas, and an Annual Kali Puja

every summer. The Annual Kali Puja attracts devotees from

all over North America and is officiated by Sri Haradan

Chakraborti and his assistant Pranab Ghoshal. This summer's

puja saw over 700 guests over the 3 day event.

 

Kali Mandir also holds satsangs with visiting pundits, swamis,

and gurus. Currently Swami Chetatananda of the Vedanta Society

of St. Louis is giving weekly satsangs during his summer stay

in Laguna Beach.
