Hope no harm was done to any in quoting the words of an other, especially to the other. After Enlightenment Nitin Trasi talks of what he call "Liberation" "As Anthony de Mello said. Enlightenment is merely a question of _recognition_ or _seeing_ for the first time what we have been always looking at... and, "seeing is done in a flash". The traditional Advaitic illustration of the _rajju-sarpa (rope snake) delusion is a similar example. (A rope is mistaken for a snake in dim light, causing fear. It is then suddenly recognized for what it is.) Here too, the recognition is sudden, though the palpitations caused by the fear take time to wear off." The palpitations wearing off by themselves could be taken as symbols of the step towards liberation that naturally proceeds after enlightenment.
