Yes, like a snake shedding its own old skin. I find it very interesting some ppl mention a two step (or more ?) process in this process. I think some list members have mentioned it before; that in some long time practitioners, the skin has been shed prior to enlightenment, over time, so that at the moment of satori (for want of a better word), there is nothing left to lose or very little. But for others, who haven't had such a long time practice or shed quite as much, after the moment there is a process of definite integration and stably integration of and /in/ truth.
