Guest guest
Last night, as we were leaving a local festival, my hand went to my pocket, and i panicked a bit. my red sandlewood mala, the one my root teacher had blessed, that i'd said i dunno-how-many mantras on was gone. i turned to my husband and said "we have to go back, i've lost my mala". We retraced my path a bit, and it did not show up. resigned, and strangely just a little sad, i accepted the loss, and even prayed that whoever picked it up might have many blessings. I keep a small box on my altar, and in it i had a small clear quartz crystal strand of beads. It was a gift from a friend. The beads were cool, and smaller than my other strand. it felt like the mantra was refracting through the crystal to the universe. This morning, as i was getting into my car, an object was tangled in the seatbelt....yep....it came back to me. A strand of once-red beads turned black from use.... Made a nice moment of drama in my life tho. --janpa who leads a nice boring life. p.s. Thinking of taking up Taiko drumming....! Taiko are large Japanese kettle-looking deep throated drums. Quite cool!
