Guest guest
Thank you (I believe it was Gloria?) who recommended the Ramana Maharshi email group. The beautiful writing that appeared with the welcome and the verse: In the interior of the heart cave Brahman alone shines in the form of the Self, self-evidently, as I, as I. Enter into the heart with questing mind or by diving deep within or through breath control, and remain as the Self. (Ramana Gita, 2:2) Very powerful. Do you know if the writing that came up is the verse written above? I have not had the time yet to read the messages but look forward to that. Gloria wrote: <Other than that, it is perhaps optional to your belief, how much of a role grace plays in your unfoldment from behind the scenes of your conscious awareness. To me, grace is like the whole shebang, tho some see this as "too mystical." > Grace is like the whole shebang - yes I believe this is so. I don't understand anything being "too mystical." One of the definitions of mysticism being direct union of the soul with God through contemplation... I don't like to use the word God, but after all it is just a word. I believe that Grace is of the I (capital I) whether you want to call it God or whatever word you want to use. All I know is that Grace exists. Glorida also wrote further: <What was said in the original post about the inner refuge is pretty much in line with Ramana saying that there is only one Guru, and it is the Self. When you start hearing "the same thing" being said by all the known 'greats' of realization, you pay attention. There is often a forest obscuring the trees, if you know how I mean this.> So well said! And I do believe I know what you mean by that. I am wondering if any of you are familiar with the New Kadampa Tradition a Mahayana Buddhist organization founded by Geshe Keisang Gyatso? I will be attending a class on Sunday eve. presented locally (Safety Harbor, FL) at the Parbawatiya Center. I met one of the teachers this week at a meditation class. I like what I have read and heard so far. Thank you for the beautiful words of Thich Nhat Hanh. Peace, Barbara
