THE ASCENSION OF THE SOUL

 

When Sat Guru becomes compassionate and showers grace and mercy, He will

grant you the gift of Shabd [the inner Love, Light and Sound of God].

 

By catching hold of Shabd, ascend to the Inner Sky, i.e., to Sahas-dal-kanwal

(Thousand-petaled Lotus) and Trikuti. Then go to Sunn and drink Amrit

(nectar).

 

Stay at Mansarovar [Lake of Nectar] and enjoy the playful activities

with Hansas [souls] there.

 

Enter the Kanwal (lotus) and get to Sunn.

 

Cross the region of Maha-sunn by the grace and mercy of Sat Guru.

 

In Bhanwargupha, hear the wonderful Bansri (flute).

 

Apply your Surat [soul] to the Dhun (Sound) of Sat Purush and Bin (harp).

 

Behold the Darbar (court) of Alakh Purush and Agam Purush, and be filled

with love (Prem and Bhakti).

THE METHOD OF MEDITATION: SURAT SHABDA YOGA

 

Fix the soul in Simran [Zikar, repeat God's Name(s)], close the lips,

speak not a word, shut the external doors (ears and eyes) hear and see

no more; open the internal door. By this method alone, the Dhuni [inner

Spiritual Sound] can be heard within. When the spirit merges in Shabd

the tongue ceases to speak.
