Hi Harsha and all,

In the underground (=subway) system of the beautiful city of London, signs with

the words "Mind the gap" are posted everywhere. The "gap" refers to the gap

between the stopped trains and the station platform, passengers should not take

a wrong step and lodge their foot between the train and the platform when

leaving or entering the train, thus the reminder. "Mind the gap" has also become

a logo on London souvenirs, t-shirts, mugs etc.

I envisioned "the gap" being the imagined gap between the "inner" and

"outer"

world, the sensed world and the one sensing it.

To "mind the gap", would be to pay attention to and try and find out, with the

help of the mind, where the gap between the sensed and the senser is. The method

with which you'd "mind the gap" would of course be self inquiry. :)

Thanks for posting the latest story from the Ramanashram letters. I found both

humor, ahimsa, compassion and the ever piercing eyes of Ramana in it.

:)

Love,

Amanda.
