Guest guest
Ever since I heard Joseph Campbell endorse Kundalini as "the Mother of all yogas" I have been interested in exposing myself to it. I have shopped for a DVD of the telecourse that was referred to in this thread and it seems that every place that has it for sale wants to sell me the 6 DVD entire set. All I want to do is try Vol. 1. Well, I found it for $25 and the two ratings ranged from excellent, life-changing and inspiring to shoddy, talkative and no better that the yoga classes on public access. I think I'll browse my local library tomorrow. Frankly, now I'm a little skeptical of the retail sites for yoga materials. I percieve the "sell" as aggressive and and highly profit motivated. Not a pleasant impression to come away with when I'm looking for self improvement material. The word 'hustler' comes to mind. Guest guest
Hi Lee, the Yoga tapes from the "Alaskan Yogi" are a product of my brother in law, Nirvair Singh Khalsa. He has been teaching kundalini yoga for more than 25 years and is a highly skilled practicioner and teacher. He does sell the tapes, they are not free, but if you visit his website, Kundaliniyoga.net, or email him, I'm sure you will be pleased with the quality of his instruction , his sincerity and lack of pretense.. Many many people are selling yoga instruction, and there is alot of hype. He is an instructor, and will instruct verbally and through example. Guest guest
Hi Lee, I really don't know where you have been looking, or what you were expecting, but anyone running a business needs to make a profit. The alternative is to make a loss, and folk don't last long if that is their aim in life. Yoga is no different to anything else in this respect. You can buy Nirvair Singh's Beginners' DVDs either singly or in sets from list sponsors Yoga Technology - www.yogatech.com Nirvair is a good friend of ours, and one of the nicest guys you could meet anywhere. Yes we aim to make a profit. We have to as it is our sole means of support. We use that money to help fund our other projects, including our FREE online lessons in Kundalini Yoga which have, to date, introduced over 50,000 people to this amazing technology. We also run a Forum to support Kundalini Yoga Teachers - again completely free to qualified applicants, and among other ventures, sponsor this mailing list. Currently we are translating Guru Rattana's manuals into Spanish, to help spread the word throughout the world-wide Hispanic community. Not a hustler in sight. :-) Sat Nam! Guest guest
I have bought his DVDs and I have even emailed him asking questions on them and from his response I can tell you that he is quick to just explain things, give tips and you would not believe the incredible warmth that comes through. Most people¹s personalities are not so clear on email but I¹m telling you he really is so very NICE as well as being an excellent teacher.. The DVDs and his advice has helped to reverse some horrible chronic health problems for me, SO NICE!!! Guest guest
Many thanks to the considerate people (Sarah, Ruth, Jennifer and Gordon) that responded to my questions and concerns with light. True, true; We all work at a business for profit to live and pursue our interests. I would not begrudge anyone the right to profit when they provide quality products and services. Likewise, consumers have a right to expect that their hard-earned money will be well spent. I am a concious consumer and certain elements of a potential sale can trip my radar. Call me suspicious but the field of self-improvment and spiritual healing is a fertile area for scam artists. Thank you for the direction to buy the first volume of the set. Since I heard disparate opinions on the quality of content I was reluctant to purchase the entire set. This has been a good experience and I thank you all for your attention and responses. Blessings to All, Lee in Tucson
